Allwyn, the organization poised to assume control of the UK National Lottery, has named Andrea Gisle Joosen as the new chief executive of its British branch. Her tenure officially commences on the first of October.
Joosen takes over from Robert Chvatal, who navigated the company through a phase of litigation from departing operator Camelot. With those matters now resolved, Chvatal will resume his principal position as CEO of the entire Allwyn Group.
Joosen faces a significant undertaking. She will be spearheading the transition as Allwyn takes charge of the National Lottery in February 2024. Her priority: ensuring the lottery generates maximum funds for charitable endeavors throughout their ten-year contract.
She possesses ample qualifications for the role. Joosen previously served as CEO for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at Tag Worldwide, a multinational marketing production firm. Prior to that, she held the CEO post at Centaur Media, an enterprise specializing in business information and events.
Justin King, Chairman of Allwyn UK, expressed enthusiasm about the selection. He highlighted Joosen’s vast expertise in assisting entertainment brands to flourish in the contemporary digital landscape, deeming her a “prized addition” to the National Lottery.
Allwyns Chief Executive, Robert Chvatal, conveyed his assurance in Andrea’s abilities, underscoring her vast expertise in developing and overseeing engaging brands, material, and gatherings within the dynamic digital realm. This history, he posits, makes her the perfect fit to helm the National Lottery. He stressed that Andrea can utilize both the outstanding UK staff and the strong Allwyn Group foundation in her new capacity.
Andrea voiced her excitement, viewing this as a unique chance to steer the National Lottery toward a promising future. She acknowledged the lottery’s esteemed place among UK citizens and its substantial societal impact. She eagerly awaits working alongside the teams at both Allwyn and Camelot to transform this aspiration into actuality.
