Global Amusement has sought bankruptcy protection.
The petition was submitted in Nevada, USA, and although the corporate announcement didn’t directly state it, it seems to pertain specifically to Global Amusement’s American branches.
This action follows a seizure ruling against Global Amusement, originating from a lawsuit with an investor. The Chapter 11 petition is a calculated move to reorganize the company’s financial standing.
Crucially, Global Amusement aims to proceed with operations as normal. They intend to utilize the Chapter 11 procedure to manage the requirements of their debtors, patrons, and personnel in a systematic fashion.
“This petition, while a substantial business tactic, was a challenging choice caused by external influences outside our purview,” stated Yugo Kinoshita, Worldwide CEO of Global Amusement. “We completely grasp the consequences of this measure but trust it is the optimal route ahead to enable Global Amusement to uphold the general well-being of the enterprise.”
Kinoshita stressed that this restructuring is not indicative of the company’s operational output. “We are pleased with what Global Amusement has achieved as a frontrunner in the gaming sector. We are highly assured that this action will safeguard our trademarks, our heritage, and our gaming collection. We are optimistic that Global Amusement will arise from this process as a more robust organization.”
This announcement arrives merely a month following Global Amusement Europe’s declaration of its inaugural European office launch, underscoring the intricacies of the circumstances.
Speculation is circulating that Aruze may be initiating bankruptcy proceedings in the United States to reorganize and prioritize its Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) operations. This appears even more probable considering the recent establishment of their new European branch.
This action is particularly noteworthy due to Aruze’s recent agreement with BetMGM in January 2022, which resulted in the introduction of four new Aruze slot machine games on BetMGM’s New Jersey platform.
