Accel Entertainment just executed a major strategic maneuver in the American gaming sector by acquiring Century Gaming for a substantial $1.642 billion. This action comes as Accel rebounds robustly from the pandemic downturn (evidenced by their impressive Q1 performance) and is poised to significantly bolster their gaming operations.
Century contributes considerable resources with over 8,300 gaming terminals distributed across more than 900 venues in Montana and Nevada. Imagine the multitude of bars, eateries, truck stops, and convenience stores where Accel will now have a presence!
However, it’s not solely about the figures. This agreement also grants Accel oversight of Century’s design and manufacturing division (Grand Vision Gaming or GVG), their customer loyalty platform (i-Rewards), and the popular Gamblers Bonus initiative.
The most favorable aspect? Century’s executive team, including Chief Executive Officer Steve Arntzen, Chief Financial Officer Heidi Schmalz, and GVG’s leader Merle Frank, are all remaining to guide the company into this promising new phase as members of the Accel family.
Arntzen aptly summarized, stating, “Accel is the ideal collaborator to unite with as we aim to elevate our expansion and introduce the latest and greatest gaming technology to the market.” He continued, “I’m incredibly honored to continue directing our exceptional team and building upon our heritage of premier locations, top-tier products, and unparalleled assistance for our operators and patrons, now under the Accel brand.”
The head of Accel, Andy Rubinstaein, expressed great enthusiasm regarding the merger. He stated that uniting with Century would broaden their reach in the American West. Rubinstein feels the executive team at Century, led by Steve, Heidi, and Mel, are the ideal collaborators to bring this to fruition.
