The Keystone State achieved a new peak in monthly earnings during the third month of the year.
Pennsylvania’s gaming income reached an unprecedented high in March, hitting $554.6 million (£444.7 million/€519.3 million), fueled by record-breaking performance from the online gambling sector.

Income was up 7.6% from $515.3 million in March 2023, exceeding February’s $449.1 million by 11.1% and also surpassing the previous monthly record of $534.2 million set in December.
Traditional slot machines were once again the primary source of income, generating $227.9 million in March, up 1.1%. This was despite the number of slots decreasing from 25,643 to 24,886.
However, income from traditional table games declined 0.8% to $85.2 million in the month.
Pennsylvania’s online gambling market sets a new high
Examining the online market, total online gambling income reached $191.1 million, up 29.0% to set a new monthly record.
Online slot machine revenue increased 29.3% to $135.5 million, while internet table game revenue also rose 31.2% to $53.1 million. In contrast, online poker revenue fell 14.4% to $2.5 million in March.
The Pennsylvania state-owned Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course continues to lead the field, generating $72.3 million in online gambling income. Valley Forge Casino Resort was again second, reporting $50.8 million in revenue, followed by Rivers Casino Philadelphia with $32.8 million.
The sports betting market continues to decline
The flourishing gaming sector in Pennsylvania is a promising indicator, however, the sports wagering market has not kept pace.
Although total income in March reached $45.6 million, representing a 10.0% decrease from the corresponding period last year, player expenditures rose 10.7% to $723.5 million. Online wagering revenue amounted to $42.3 million, while retail betting revenue reached $3.2 million.
Valley Forge Casino Resort, in collaboration with FanDuel, continues to dominate the Pennsylvania market, generating revenue of $24.4 million in March, with players placing bets totaling $333.2 million.
Hollywood Meadows Casino, in partnership with DraftKings, secured second place with revenue of $10.7 million, with total wagers reaching $209.2 million. Hollywood Morgantown Casino, in collaboration with BetMGM, claimed third place with revenue of $1.8 million, with total wagers reaching $51.9 million.
Regarding revenue from other gaming activities in Pennsylvania, video lottery terminal revenue experienced a slight decline of 0.5% to $3.7 million. Fantasy sports revenue witnessed a more significant decrease of 21.1% to $1.1 million.
