Oshidori International Development Company has withdrawn from the contest to secure a permit for constructing a large resort in Nagasaki, Japan.

The company cited dissatisfaction with the prefecture’s regulations governing the resort’s development and operation. They voiced concerns about the fairness of the licensing selection process.

Oshidori believes the prefecture’s regulations are overly restrictive, hindering the viability of a successful enterprise. They also alleged observing unethical conduct during the selection process. They maintain that a transparent and professional procedure is essential for participation.

They expressed gratitude to all who supported their endeavor, including the residents of Nagasaki.

Oshidori partnered with Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment earlier this year in their bid to obtain the license.

In the month of March, the Nagasaki administration revealed they had reduced the pool of contenders for a fresh, all-encompassing resort to a trio: Oshidori, Austrian International Casino, and Niki Chyau Fwu Group. Niki Chyau Fwu Group is a collaborative endeavor between Niki, a Japanese commercial property developer, and Chyau Fwu Group (also recognized as Parkview Group), a Taiwanese construction firm.

Oshidori International Development was established to cultivate an integrated resort in Sasebo City, Nagasaki, and is under the ownership of investment company Oshidori International Holdings.

Last week, Oshidori’s application partner Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment designated Kim Cowan as its Vice President of Talent Management and Naketrice Snow as Director of Employee and Guest Experience.

Cowan previously held the position of head of KWConsulting and dedicated eight years as Vice President of Human Resources at Prudent Financial.

Mohegan stated that Snow possesses over 15 years of expertise in the hospitality sector, having worked at diverse hotels and resorts in Florida. Her most recent role was as Director of Food and Beverage and Senior Event Manager at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando and Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek.

The operator asserted that these appointments will empower the company to implement a robust, all-encompassing human resources strategy across all of its holdings.

Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment is thrilled to welcome Kim Cowan and Naketrice Snow to their corporate human resources team. These new additions will aid the company in its ongoing expansion within the United States and abroad.

Ray Pineault, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, stated, “Our workforce is critical to MGE’s sustained global achievement. I am certain that Kim and Naketrice will spearhead efforts to guarantee that every MGE employee realizes their full potential while embodying the spirit of Aquai.”
